Ultromega provides EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) sourced from sustainably harvested cold-water fish, purified to remove heavy metals, PCBs, and oxidation byproducts. The triglyceride (rTG) form is structurally closer to the omega-3s found in whole fish and has been shown to absorb significantly better than ethyl ester forms common in budget supplements.
Omega-3 supplements come in several chemical forms. Ethyl ester fish oil — the cheapest and most common — requires the body to cleave an ethanol group before absorption, reducing bioavailability.
